And some differences go beyond nationality - Asians in general enjoy some foods that I consider disgusting (like the fish snacks I mentioned). Like the Asian cultural concept of group rights, which we just argued about - Western society's focus on the individual certainly has done more to advance human rights than anything Confucius came up with, I contend. Who ever said they were selling us real life? =P I find a very basic pleasure in dark skin (I'm white) just as someone else would see red hair as a plus. *shrug* I think that, for the right couples, cultural differences are some of the most gratifying things to work through. You could nit-pick about toothpaste, but it feels so much better to have meaningful discussions about how to raise a mixed-race family and such-on.
